Dates, guests and the shape of the trip
Start with your preferred dates and flexibility, departure area, trip duration and guest count. Tell us whether guests will stay overnight and whether the trip is about a celebration, quiet time, swimming, dining or exploring. Day charters and extended trips need different layouts and operating plans.
Comfort and practical needs
Share cabin requirements, children’s ages where relevant, mobility or boarding concerns, food allergies and important preferences. Ask about the yacht’s approved guest capacity, crew arrangement and available equipment. Specific requests need confirmation for the selected vessel; photographs alone cannot establish suitability.
Budget with the complete trip in mind
Provide an approximate total budget, rather than only a preferred base rate. Ask for a written explanation of what is included and what may be additional, such as fuel, food and beverages, dockage, taxes, repositioning or crew gratuity. The quotation and charter agreement should establish the applicable charges.
Confirm the details before you commit.
Availability and the charter agreement
A proposed yacht is not a confirmed booking. Review dates, vessel, guest capacity, included services, payment schedule, cancellation terms and any security deposit in the agreement. Ask how itinerary changes, additional expenses and special requests will be handled before making a commitment.
An itinerary with room for real conditions
Distance, daylight, embarkation times and conditions on the water affect what is practical. Plan time to enjoy each stop rather than treating the trip as a checklist. Weather and the captain’s operational decisions may change the route; discuss priorities and suitable alternatives in advance.

How far ahead should I inquire?
Inquire when your dates and priorities begin to take shape. Availability varies by yacht, destination and season. If your dates are fixed, share that first; if they are flexible, tell us the range so appropriate options can be discussed.
Are meals, fuel and gratuity included?
There is no universal package. Inclusions depend on the selected yacht and agreement. Request an itemized explanation of the base rate, estimated extras and how any additional spending will be approved or reconciled.
Can the itinerary be tailored to our group?
Share the places and activities that matter most. The route must remain suitable for the vessel, trip duration, local requirements and conditions. Preferences can guide planning, but a particular anchorage, activity or route cannot be guaranteed.
Can I charter while considering yacht ownership?
